11th Mar 2015 (幾米高 – Lillian Wong)

The song for today is “幾米高” by Lillian Wong. This song was inspired by and in memory of Michael Jackson. The title can be translated as “How tall”, “A few meters high” or “How Michael” (since Michael in Chinese is 米高). The lyrics also play with this ambiguous title meaning.

Since the song was inspired by Michael Jackson, the lyrics are also about him. It said, in his life he shined like a star. This moment, he left, but his charm didn’t stop there. Why he could climb a few meters above you and me. The track of time quickly disappeared. That was how he climbed, that was how he flied. Who could steal everything that he own and his value. Perfect or not, the soul was not gone. Dawn make his body full of golden light, shining everywhere. It shine onto earth once again, everyone love the heat it provided. His life is full of people focusing on and cheering for him. When he was attacked, he smiled and said “wishes that love will be forever”. If he could always climb a few meters above you and me, who could pull him down? That was how he climbed, that was how he flied. Who could steal everything that he own and his value. Perfect or not, the soul was not gone. Dawn make his body full of golden light, shining everywhere. It shine onto earth once again. I need to remember that there are still many chances. He’s not going down. He’s not. That was how he climbed, that was how he flied. Who could steal everything that he own and his value. Perfect or not, the soul was not gone. Dawn make his body full of golden light. That was how he climbed. That was how he climbed. His heart, is still pointing this direction. Hope you will like the song.
