The song of the day is “Silent All These Years” by Tori Amos.
This song had been sung by many different singers. The first time I heard a
version of this song is actually the cover song by Faye Wong, her version is
called “冷戰” (meaning “Cold War”).
To me “Silent All These Years” is about a man cheating on a
woman. Yet, the person telling the story is not the person being cheated, but
are the one cheating with the male. Throughout the lyrics, there are mentioned
that she is putting on someone else jeans, and that the boy’s family is not
happy with this relationship. Also from the lyrics, it seems that she know that
her partner only love her because of her beauty, and that they are actually not
communicating in the mental sense. Hope you will enjoy this song.
